CTO | Founder

Merlijn is one of the founders of Infotopics | Apps for Power BI. He lives in the small city of Hardenberg, which is also where our office is based. As he is always the person with crazy, innovative ideas, it’s not surprising that he is responsible for creating, developing, and updating our visuals. Merlijn lives by the rule of thinking in solutions, and that’s why he loves to turn ideas into products that customers love. In his free time, he volunteers, giving speed skate training to children and adults. He enjoys cycling in nature and loves spending time with his two little rabbits.

CEO

Our always busy Richard is the CEO of Infotopics | Apps for Power BI. He loves to grow and improve our organization, taking care of numerous tasks and helping Power BI customers experience the value of our premium Power BI Visuals. Furthermore, he works closely with the Power BI management and development. Leading the Infotopics | Apps for Power BI team gives him a lot of energy every day because customers experience enormous value using our visuals. Essential values for him are teamwork, freedom, innovation, and having FUN! Richard was born and raised in Groningen, where he also started his career in Business Intelligence. He likes to spend time with his wife, kids, and dog in his free time. He is also very passionate about playing and coaching basketball and loves watching pro basketball at Donar Groningen.

CFO

Infotopics founder Ruud is our biggest fan! He loves creating (analytics) solutions that help people solve various business problems. At Infotopics | Apps for Power BI, Ruud continues to mix experience, entrepreneurship and his passion for data and technology to make the business grow. He is also responsible for showing us the correct numbers. He likes travelling, watching his food forest grow, and enjoying the outdoors while cycling or walking his Swiss shepherd Siggy in his leisure time.

Project Management

Being a real hands-on manager, Remco is our project management guy who doesn’t avoid challenges. He takes care of good planning, tests all the new features of our visuals, and makes sure that the marketing team is notified once a cool new feature is ready for release. Remco started as a carpenter and worked in construction for several years, but he ended up in IT. Remco worked as an IT manager at a construction company before starting his journey at Apps for Power BI. At our office, friendliness and creativity are what he likes the most. A workday doesn’t feel like a workday, and he wants to achieve great results with the team! Remco was born in Vlaardingen and moved to Hardenberg when he was three years old and still lives here with his girlfriend and two daughters. When he is not working, he really enjoys day trips with his family, spending time with his friends, and of course, helping family and friends with all kinds of carpentry jobs.

Junior Developer

Always eager to learn and know more, Krijn is our very skilled Junior Developer. He grew up in a small village called Sibculo. Krijn has always had a great interest in computers and programming. He started learning how to program by himself when he was in high school. Currently, he is studying for his Bachelor’s in Computer Science. He likes working at Infotopics | Apps for Power BI because of the friendly and helpful team, who are very supportive. When he is not working or learning at school, he likes to hang out with friends.

Developer

Being efficient, realistic and clear-headed are values that drive Sri, one of our talented developers. Although he was born in Mumbai, he lived in over six cities and has travelled extensively across India. He came to the Netherlands for his Bachelor’s in Computer Science. Sri likes to work at Infotopics | Apps for Power BI because of the conducive environment for newcomers to catch up and be creative. The fact that the team is very friendly, helpful, encouraging and optimistic motivates him to work even harder. When he is not bombarded with assignments and projects at the university, he likes to do some challenging physical activities, play the piano, hang out with friends, or prepare for certifications to become an ethical hacker.

Marketing & Communication

With a background in Creative Business, Jenne is a valuable online marketer. She brings a lot of positivity, creativity and authenticity to the team. Being in a friendly atmosphere with passionate and encouraging colleagues is why Jenne loves working at Infotopics | Apps for Power BI. Jenne thinks optimism is essential and always tries to see things positively. In her spare time, she loves to play sports, take long walks in the beautiful nature of Twente, and spend time with her friends and family. She is very passionate about singing, too.

Product Manager

Siebe grew up in Oldenzaal, a small town in the Eastern part of the Netherlands. He has a Chemical Engineering background but quickly discovered that everything computer-related was more appealing to him than the Chemical industry. In 2012, Siebe joined Infotopics and experienced first-hand the benefits of the Power BI Software. In 2018, he joined Merlijn and Tjalling where he fulfilled the function of Product Manager. He likes to translate customer ideas and customer use cases into improvements, enhancements, or even new visuals.

Siebe has many hobbies that he does in his free time. One of his passions is cooking (especially on his beloved green kamado BBQ), and he also likes to do recreational cycling and photography.

Developer

Harm Jan is one of our awesome developers with an exceptional can-do mentality. He is reliable, straightforward, and loves to make great visuals. He grew up in Nijeveen and has always been busy constructing and programming. In addition, he did his master’s in Physics, which is closely related to programming. Helping people is his passion, whether at work or in his personal life. As a result, he takes a lifeguard job during the summer. He also likes drumming in his professional cover band, ensuring that all kinds of parties become unforgettable.

Developer

Yoram likes to work with intelligent, experienced, and talented people who are, just like him, passionate about data. This passion is also why he loves his job at Infotopics | Apps for Power BI! He has an educational background in IT & Application development, which grew his love for creating websites and apps. Yoram is one of the people who create the fantastic visuals we offer, as he is part of our Developers team. His work revolves around building our premium Power BI visuals and improving the digital workflows of the company. Next to his job, he volunteers in the fire brigade of the city he lives. Yoram likes gaming and experimenting with projects, mainly driven by data in his spare time.

Marketing | Social Media

Sincerity, honesty, and respect are values Maria lives by. Maria is our social media expert with Bulgarian roots. She was born and raised in Sofia and came to the Netherlands for her Bachelor’s studies. “What I really like about The Netherlands is the informality between people, as it creates space to speak your mind, no matter your age or status.” The informality and how encouraging everyone in our team is regarding our efforts are the most valuable reasons she likes working at Infotopics | Apps for Power BI. She usually hangs out with her friends in her free time and likes to travel and experience new cultures.

Sales

Vincent is one of the people to contact if you’re curious and want to know more about our premium Power BI visuals, as he is part of the Sales team. Vin is originally from London, but he moved to the Netherlands and is currently learning the complex Dutch language. Vin worked as an Operations Manager at a cemetery in the UK and was involved in digitalizing the area’s maps. That experience made it easier for him to understand Power BI and quickly get on board with Infotopics | Apps for Power BI. Vin is the perfect colleague to have around when you need some positivity. He’s a big Tottenham Hotspur fan and also likes to play amateur football in his spare time. He claims he will continue with it until his body says “no more”!

Researcher

Evelyn is our ProcessMining researcher. She grew up in Klijndijk, a small town in the North-Eastern part of the Netherlands. Being always open to new experiences, Evelyn moved to Twente for her study of Business Administration. She is currently combining a teaching job at the International Business School of Saxion UAS with research at Infotopics | Apps for Power BI. She loves the combination because it allows her to use the insights from our company in her classes and vice versa. According to Evelyn, working at Infotopics | Apps for Power BI is innovative because you have a lot of room for your ideas. In her free time, she loves to walk. Therefore, she is training for her goal: participating in the “Nijmeegse Vierdaagse,” a popular four-day walking competition.

Developer

Anirudh grew up in Kerala, India. He came to the Netherlands to do his Master’s in Geoinformation Science and Urban Planning at the University of Twente. He has always been passionate about how “important” and “strategic” data is, which led to research in computational urban science and policy. There he explored how to harness the power of data for informed decision-making. He passionately believes that building tools to interact with data efficiently is crucial for informed decision-making in a world where complex interdependencies is a norm. What he likes most about our team are the freedom and opportunities to grow and learn, combined with the passion and energy that everyone at Apps for Power BI shares fascinates him. In his free time, he likes photography and abstract art. He is also part of research groups and NGO’s working on environment/sustainability and rural development.

Sales

With his mission to make customers happy by letting them discover the value of our products, Patrick is a Sales representative at Infotopics | Apps for Power BI. He was born and raised in Hengelo, the Netherlands, where he still lives with his family. Patrick started in the Finance industry, where he learned a lot about processes, data and BI. In 2008, he switched to sales and consultancy in software, and after that, he worked as a partner manager at Topicus, where he was responsible for customers. Patrick is a positive, loyal and open-minded person who wants to make the world a better place. Being part of a skilled, enthusiastic and innovative team and working on products that deliver a lot of value for customers is why he likes to work at Infotopics | Apps for Power BI. He likes to cycle, read, and have fun with family and friends in his spare time. Lastly, he is also on the advisory board of a local political party in Hengelo.

Marketing | SEO/SEA

Diana is part of the marketing team, focussing on SEO/SEA. She was born in Kyiv, Ukraine, where she spent the first 17 years of her life. Diana moved to Amsterdam to study Business Administration, where she also fell in love with the Netherlands because of its opportunities and inspiring people. Her most important values are kindness, integrity, and empathy. Working at Apps for Power BI is an exciting and interesting journey because of our supportive environment and courage to think outside the box. She likes to spend her free time hanging out with friends, reading books, or traveling. She has visited more than 25 countries (and still counting)! She is also a big fan of Japan and its culture.

Sales Support

If you need support, have questions, or want a demo, Koen is your guy. Born in Amsterdam but raised in Deventer, it took him some time to figure out what he wanted to study after high school. He found his passion in Business-IT, and you can expect to see a lot more of him once he graduates in 2023. The informal atmosphere and personal responsibility are why Koen loves working at Apps for Power BI. Responsibility is also the primary value that drives Koen: “Nobody is responsible for you, your actions, or your success other than you. If you mess up, the best thing is to own up to it and to do better next time.” He has an active lifestyle in his free time, and he likes to spend time with his girlfriend, pets, and (online gaming) friends.

Software Developer

Born and raised in Apeldoorn, our developer Joost who has a background in Software and Information Engineering, likes to help our customers to create and improve value for their business. Over the past years, he was able to get a lot of experience developing applications. He created a traveling salesman solution for a delivery system at an electrical supply store in the UK, a fruit testing laboratory in New Zealand, and an Electronic patient dossier for a mental healthcare institute in The Netherlands. He values the freedom to be himself while making a noticeable difference and impacting very highly. He likes to work at Apps for Power BI because of the informal and fun work environment with a very energized and enthusiastic team of professionals. He likes to get out of his dev chair in his spare time by going for a run or hitting the gym. He also loves scuba diving and riding his motorcycle. If the weather keeps him inside, he likes to write some code for his raspberry pi, experiment with new technology, or play some video games with friends.

Web Developer – Graduate Student

Lucas grew up in Raalte and has always been a bit of a computer nerd. In secondary school, he started messing with script in video games as well as restyling some websites for fun. He chose a profession as Software Developer, and now he is our graduate student, specialized in Software Engineering. In development he finds it important that you never forget the end user, he wants to create the best user experience possible. At Apps for Power BI, he loves the relaxed and friendly ambience among colleagues together with the noticeable excitement about what we do. In his free time, he likes to watch an unhealthy amount of movies and series, play the piano, play video games and occasionally go to the gym.
